What is Kilidove Tours and Safaris Volunteering programs mean?
Kilidove Tours and Safaris volunteering programs is a very important part of what we do and is conducted as a part of our social obligations. We encourage and assist social institutions in bringing Volunteers from abroad to participate in social and development areas. These can range from Primary Schools, Hospitals, Orphanages, Child Care Centres, Disabled Groups and Widows groups.
Programs that can be done in Tanzania as a Volunteer;
Caring for Orphans and Children Care Centers
Tanzania, like many other African countries has many children that are orphaned due to HIV/AIDS, Cancer, Stroke and Poverty. This program offers volunteers the chance to care for some of these orphans. Volunteers will have the opportunity to teach, cook, wash and undertake other general activities performed at the Orphan Centres. More than anything, they will have the chance to give love and attention to these kids who so desperately need it.
Teaching Primary and Nursery School
Kilidove Tours and Safaris can give the opportunity to teach in Nursery Schools and Primary School in collaboration with various school administration systems. Volunteers will provide the children with an opportunity to expand their horizons learn from their experiences and develop greater skills for the betterment of their own futures.
Working with Women and Widows groups
Kilidove Tours and Safaris is dedicated to assisting women groups who run; agriculture, small trades, jewellery, gardening, tailoring, Batiks making, and other small income generation schemes to improve their financial management skills. This encourages independence and a chance to develop new skills within the Groups. Volunteer are welcomed to assist in providing these women basic literacy courses and financial management skills.
Working and assisting in Healthy management
Kilidove Tours and Safaris provide an opportunity for medical professionals to share their knowledge and participate in Health Managements activities. Furtheremore, medical students on their internship are encouraged to practice in hospitals and Primary Health Care Units to increase the ever-rising need for capacity in these hospitals.

Why Volunteering in Tanzania?
It will give you the opportunity to do community work and visit the sights of Moshi and Arusha City, including visiting some of the most famous National parks in the world and the highest mountain peaks in Africa. It will also allow you to get know the tribes and cultures, and to chat with our local friendly population, who will teach you a little Swahili.
Donation As you wish. One may option to provide either a monetary donation or a material one to the Volunteering Centres. The recipients will be most grateful.
Free time in Arusha/Moshi
During their free time, volunteers can attend various community events such as playing soccer with the local people. They also have the chance to learn street Swahili; beginning with the slang greeting “mambo vipi?” the response being “poa”. This means “hi how are you?”, “Cool”. Other experiences include hash runs, African Live Band outings, visits to the beautiful island Zanzibar, Mountain trekking and Safari explorations. The possibilities are endless.
What are the costs for the program?
All short and long term volunteer tour programs have fees which cover the operating expenses. These costs include; accommodation and transportation that is arranged on your behalf. We don’t charge any extra costs, other than those that are incurred. For example, with accommodation, you pay for nothing extra above the normal charge rate of where you will stay. Program Fees
There is no programs fees for volunteering though there are costs that occcured during volunteering time, such as accommodation, transfers and transportations all costs are given according to the activity and location where the Volunteering activities are undertaken, due to distance, location and nature of the specified area.
We have programs ranging from 1 – 24 weeks, in both Arusha and Moshi.
We provide the opportunity to combine both volunteering and adventure Safaris into the one trip. You can volunteer with the local communities along with visiting the Serengeti, Manyara, Ngorongoro, Arusha, Mikumi, or Tarangire National Parks, as well as taking a holiday trip to the tropical beaches of Zanzibar, Bagamoyo, Mombasa or visiting the bustling city of Dar Es Salaam. Also whilst volunteering you can have chance to climb highest peaks of Mountain in Africa such as Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, Mt.Kenya and Mt. Oldonyo Lengai.
These are all well arranged programs, where we can offer wonderful experiences and time arrangements to suit you for your entire stay in Tanzania. For example, if you want a total of 4 weeks in Tanzania, we can arrange it for you to have the first two weeks getting dusty and dirty volunteering with the community, and then the second two weeks for wild adventuring and beach holidays.
