Maasai Mara

You’ll depart early in the morning for a scenic drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve.

The Masai Mara is one of the last remaining places on Earth where wildlife continues to thrive in large numbers, much as it did in the past. As the northern tip of the expansive Serengeti ecosystem, it is famous for the Great Migration, when thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and their predators cross these plains in search of fresh grazing.

You’ll arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to begin your wildlife experience.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at your chosen lodge or campsite.

Our Choice of Accommodation Includes;

Mid-Luxury: Kilima Camp

Luxury: Mara West Camp

High-End: Angama Mara

Full Day in Masai Mara

After breakfast, you’ll set out for a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara, with a packed lunch provided to enjoy in the bush.

The reserve is renowned for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife. It’s one of the few places in Africa where you have a real chance of spotting the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—all in a single morning game drive. The cheetahs here are famously relaxed around vehicles; some may even use them for shade or climb onto the roof for a better view of their surroundings.

For bird lovers, the Mara is a true haven, with nearly 500 recorded bird species, including:

  • 16 species of eagles

  • Numerous hawks and falcons

  • 6 species of vultures

  • 8 types of storks

  • 4 species of bustards (including the kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird)

  • 9 species of sunbirds

Dinner and overnight stay will be at your selected lodge or campsite.

Morning Game Drive in Serengeti & Transfer to Ngorongoro

Today begins with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti—an ideal time to spot wildlife when animals are most active. As the sun rises over the savannah, you’ll witness one of the most breathtaking scenes Africa has to offer. After your sunrise safari, return to camp for a hearty brunch.

In the afternoon, you’ll depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, often referred to as the 8th Natural Wonder of the World. This massive volcanic crater features 2,000-foot-high walls and a 102-square-mile floor, creating a natural sanctuary for an astonishing variety of wildlife. Known as a modern-day Noah’s Ark, the crater is home to almost every species native to East Africa—including the critically endangered black rhino.

Ngorongoro also holds the highest concentration of wildlife on the planet, and its bull elephants are famous for their exceptionally large tusks, a result of the mineral-rich volcanic soil and nutritious grasses.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at a lodge or campsite on the crater rim, preparing you for a thrilling descent the next day.

Morning Game Drive in Ngorongoro & Return to Arusha

Midday, enjoy a picnic lunch near the scenic Hippo Pool, where you can relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings. After lunch, there will be time for a short final game drive before ascending the crater walls and beginning your journey back to Arusha.
