Uganda boasts 6.8% of the world’s butterfly species, 10.25% of its bird species, 7.8% of its mammals, and 53.9% of its mountain gorilla population. Uganda has the highest concentration of primates on earth, with at least 11 species, including chimpanzees and the rare, endangered mountain gorilla. Head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (BINP) and Kibale Forest National Park to get close to these ‘great apes.’
