The Giraffe Manor Hotel Nairobi

Twelve rooms make up the whole property, split evenly between the Historic Manor and the Garden Manor. The Historic Manor, built in 1932, keeps its art deco bathrooms and antique furniture. Next door, the Garden Manor copies the original design and opened in 2011.

Room types:

• Superior rooms — larger, with sanctuary views
• Karen Blixen Suite — two bedrooms, family friendly and wheelchair accessible
• Finch Hatton Suite — king bed, fireplace, mezzanine twins for children

Every room looks onto the giraffe sanctuary, so the herd often turns up at your window.
