Umbwe’s steep approach and rapid early height gain make the proposed acclimatisation schedule an important part of route selection. Previous hiking experience does not guarantee tolerance of altitude.
The goal is Uhuru Peak, at 5,895 metres, but reaching the summit is subject to health, weather and guide decisions. Your proposal should explain the planned ascent, descent and arrangements if the programme needs to change.
