Seasonal Highlights
The sunny climate and high elevation of Northern Tanzania ensure comfortable, spring-like temperatures for wildlife viewing year-round, unlike many lower-lying areas in Africa that can get very hot and muggy. Temperatures in the Serengeti National Park rarely exceed 85°F (29°C) and it is unusual for temperatures to drop below 55°F (13°C). There are two main seasons in Tanzania: a dry season (June through November) and a green season (December through May). Even during the green season, it remains mostly dry, warm, and sunny, with rainfall limited to a couple of inches (5 cm) throughout the month, rarely impeding game drives.
